Higher Education

Mission: The higher Education Program is intended to serve eligible San Carlos Apache people and provide them the opportunity to complete their educational goals beyond high school for the purpose of developing leadership, tribal talent, individual careers for present and future growth and increasing employment opportunities. Grants are made available for students who are enrolled members of San Carlos Apache Tribe, whom are enrolled or accepted for enrollment to an accredited college or university and who have established financial need.

General Requirements

  1. Higher Education Application - Fully Completed with working email address
  2. Official College/University Transcripts, High School/GED Official Transcripts (Only required by New Applicant)
  3. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Student Aid Report
  4. Financial Needs Analysis - Submit by student to College/University Financial Aid Office
  5. Current Certificate of Indian Blood with current Tribal Chairman and Vice Chairman posted
  6. Admission/Acceptance Letter to College/University
  7. Semester Class Schedule & Degree Course Plan
  8. Dorm/Apartment Lease Agreement (Students whom posses a Permanent address on the SCAT Reservation only)
  9. Graduated High School Senior - G.P.A. Requirement 2.0 or higher
  10. Continuing College Student - G.P.A. Requirement 2.5 or higher
  11. Graduate Student - G.P.A. Requirement 3.0 or higher

Annual Deadlines Dates for Higher Education Program

Spring Semester:  November 30th
Fall Semester:  June 30th
